The 12 Steps
The Twelve Steps are the spiritual principles that guide recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous. They are a path to a new way of living.
About the 12 Steps
The Twelve Steps were first published in 1939 in the book "Alcoholics Anonymous." They were adapted from the Oxford Group's principles and the personal experience of AA's co-founders, Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith. The steps have since been adopted by numerous other recovery programs and have helped millions of people worldwide find freedom from addiction.
